The Town of Parker is located in Douglas County, Colorado, in the southeastern part of the Denver Metropolitan area. In recent years, Parker has become an commuter town. As of 2000, the town population was 23,558. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Parker’s population as of 2006 was estimated at 41,406. Parker is now the 18th most populous municipality in the State of Colorado.

Parker is served by Douglas County School District RE-1. The two primary high schools in the area are Ponderosa and Chaparral.
